The Peaceful Futures Program
As parents, families, and communities we have the best intention for the positive future lives of our youth. We teach them to drive safely, we ensure they are prepared academically for college and model for them specific skills for their employment life. Yet in the area of Muslim Identity, establishing a family with healthy relationships, knowing the warning signs of domestic violence, understanding the cyber world and other life saving skills we often assume they will figure it out on their own. Peaceful Families Project is extending its energies to train and serve youth in the areas of healthy development and relationship skills through the PEACEFUL FUTURES PROGRAM.
Peaceful Futures Youth Curriculum Training of Trainers Initiative
Peaceful Families Project will be offering a Training of Trainers for Muslim Youth Programing leaders in their new PEACEFUL FUTURES Youth Curriculum which is an 8 session program with separate modules for Middle School, High School and University Aged young people which addresses issues in development from an Islamic Perspective including: Muslim Identity and Core Values, Islamic models of Family Functioning, Positive Relationship Skills, Mental Health and Addiction, Cyber Citizenship, Tolerance and Diversity.
PFP is looking for ten Muslim organizations ( masjids, schools, youth groups, etc.) to participate in our national pilot of the Peaceful Futures Program.
Each organization would provide two adult youth leaders ( over age 21 preferably one male and one female ) to attend a two day training in February and six one hour follow-up consultation meetings. The organization would agree to run one module group ( Either Middle School, High School or University Aged) of at least ten youth in the Spring of 2022. The organization would then have possession of the full three modules of the PFP curriculum to use with their ongoing programing.
If your organization is interested in participating in the national pilot program please fill in the following registration form.
