PFP is continually engaging in scientifically based investigations, alone and with partners, that serve to increase knowledge of the Muslim community, both in the Muslim community in the United States and globally. We aim to use this data to prevent violence in Muslim communitites and promote peaceful families through community education, trainings and interventions. We are currently seeking individuals to participate in our and our partners' research projects. See research opportunities below.

Investigating Islamophobia: Identifying Risk and Protective Factors in the Muslim American Community
Participate in a research study exploring mental health in Muslim Americans and its relation to perceptions of Islamophobia, vigilance, social support, and community connectedness. You are eligible to participate in this study if you are above the age of 18, identify as Muslim, and are in the United States. If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a 15-20 minute survey (average completion time is 8-10 mins). You will be entered into a raffle to receive a $20 Amazon gift card (chances of winning are 1 in 10) at the end of the survey.

The following online study aims to explore how Muslim Arab American males experience living in America:
- Completing the online survey takes about 15-25 minutes
- Completing the optional interview takes about 45 minutes
Come as You Are: Religiousness as a Context for Explanatory Models and Treatment
Participate in a brief, one-time online survey about the role Islam plays in your life along with your opinions on mental illness and available treatment options. We are interested in your perspective regardless of how typical or unique you believe your responses to be. By participating in this study, you will have the opportunity to describe your experiences and help treatment providers learn how to accommodate and further respect Islamic traditions. This survey should take about 10-20 minutes to complete. Your responses to all questions are confidential and will not be shared with anyone in any way that identifies you as an individual.

Black Muslim Experiences Research Fellowship
ISPU plans to host an 18-month fellowship beginning in Fall 2021 to conduct research and analysis that centers and uplifts Black Muslim experiences. This fellow will be a member of ISPU’s research team and will not only conduct, publish, and widely share original scholarship, but also organize and lead discussions, participate in thought leadership opportunities, and equip changemakers with research. The fellow’s objective is to shed light on a topic relevant to Black Muslim experiences through rigorous research and empower stakeholders toward collective action with this knowledge.
