COLLABORATING ORGANIZATIONS
The Asian & Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence (APIIDV) is a national resource center and clearinghouse on gender violence that works to strengthen advocacy, promote community organizing, and influence systems change. It identifies and addresses critical issues, provides technical assistance and training, conducts research, and engages in policy advocacy. Collaboration: PFP and APIIDV jointly developed and founded the Muslim Advocacy Network Against Domestic Violence (MANADV) in 2009.

The Domestic Violence Awareness Project (DVAP) Advisory Group is a diverse and unique partnership that collaborates to collect, develop, and distribute resources and ideas relevant to advocates' ongoing public and prevention awareness and education efforts, not only in preparation for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, but also throughout the year. Collaboration: As a member of the DVAP Advisory Group PFP informs the development and creation of the annual theme and resources for Domestic Violence Awareness Month by emphasizing the needs of Muslim families and communities.

FaithTrust Institute collaborates to develop and promote resources from multi-faith traditions which promote safety, justice and healing and to address those which may present roadblocks to ending sexual and domestic violence. They do their work with a commitment to cultural sensitivity and competency which are essential components of effective work for social change. They are guided and sustained by the spiritual resources of multi-faith traditions. Collaboration: In conjunction with FaithTrust Institute, PFP co-produced Garments for One Another: Ending Domestic Violence in Muslim Families, the premier documentary utilized by Muslim communities and mainstream providers alike.

The Interfaith Domestic Violence Coalition (IDVC), convened by Jewish Women International, is a national effort for faith based organizations to come together to provide policy and legislative guidance on domestic violence issues. Collaboration: As a member of IDVC, PFP represents the interests of Muslim families and communities with regard to domestic violence prevention and intervention during monthly coalition meetings, events on Capitol Hill, and visits to congress.
With locations in over 35 countries, Islamic Relief strives to alleviate poverty and suffering wherever it is found, paying no heed to gender, race or creed. In addition to fundraising for relief efforts around the world, the American offices have developed domestic projects to help disadvantaged communities right here in the United States.
The mission of the Islamic Social Services Association-USA is to build a network of professional, paraprofessional and volunteer social service providers; and to enhance their capacity through education, training, technical assistance, research, mentorship and collaboration. Collaboration: PFP and ISSA-USA partner on trainings, conferences, and other initiatives to address domestic violence in Muslim communities.

The Islamic Society of North America is an association of Muslim organizations and individuals that provides a common platform for presenting Islam, supporting Muslim communities, developing educational, social and outreach programs and fostering good relations with other religious communities, and civic and service organizations. Collaboration: ISNA supports the goals of PFP by partnering with us on various initiatives such as reaching out to the Buffalo community following Sr. Aasiya Zubair’s murder, publishing articles on domestic violence in Islamic Horizons magazine, and approving the distribution of a domestic violence survey at the annual ISNA convention, and providing space for multiple sessions on healthy families and domestic violence during their annual convention.

The Muslim Advocacy Network Against Domestic Violence is a national network comprised of predominantly Muslim advocates addressing domestic violence in Muslim communities through diverse faith-based and mainstream approaches and agencies. The aim of the network is to bring together a national network of advocates, service providers, legal and health care professionals, activists, researchers, scholars, and community based organizations to strengthen culturally appropriate advocacy, encourage dialogue and collaboration, develop models and analyses, and disseminate resources. Collaboration: In conjunction with APIIDV, PFP created a forum for the establishment of MANADV in February 2009.
Muslim Advocates Against Violence (MAAV) is a national network of advocates committed to ending violence against women and supporting healthy communities. Their mission is to raise awareness, foster dialogue and strengthen advocacy. Collaboration: PFP joined MAAV as a founding member in 2008.
Project Sakinah: Stop Family Violence Now is an initiative of Dar al Islam, a New Mexico non-profit religious and educational organization. It is an effort to stimulate awareness and action in the Muslim community to wake up to the reality of the harm being done to our families, to learn to speak up in order to break the silence that surrounds the issue, and to team up with others to work to change our condition.
